In my picture I picked 6 things that I think or know are on Cole totem pole. All the things on my picture have some meaning in this book or to Cole.
- Bear, the bear represents the spirit bear witch plays a large role in the story as a symbol of peace and looking at the big picture.
- worm, the worms represent the moment Cole wanted to live and was willing to fight himself to stay alive.
- whale,the whale represents a time Cole spent with Edwin and Garvey learning how to live alone and rely on himself.
- sparrow, the sparrow represents the first time Cole felt something for another living thing.
- mouse, the mouse represents Cole strength and will to do anything once he sets his mind to it
- circle, the circle represents being connected to the big picture with nature and land.
